Romanian National Team’s training last week at Mogoșoaia National Football Centre, installed with Hatko Hybridgrass
HATKO would like to address the concerns raised regarding the playing surface at the “Fadil Vokrri” stadium in Pristina ahead of tonight’s match.
The hybrid grass system at “Fadil Vokrri” stadium has been installed and maintained by the same expert team that executed the hybrid grass field at the Mogoșoaia National Football Centre, where the Romanian national team trained just last week. Both stadiums utilize the same advanced hybrid grass technology, designed to provide a durable and high-performance playing surface. The Romanian team is already familiar with this system, as they regularly practice on the same technology.
Currently, the natural grass coverage at “Fadil Vokrri” stadium is at approximately 80%. The claim that 90% of the field is synthetic is a gross misrepresentation. The field was seeded in June, but unusually high temperatures—exceeding 35°C for much of the summer—have slowed grass growth. This is a temporary situation, not a reflection of the field’s intended or final state.
While we anticipated reaching over 90% natural grass coverage by this time, the extreme weather conditions have delayed the grass development. However, as temperatures begin to decrease in the coming weeks, we expect the grass coverage to exceed 95%, supported by an aggressive overseeding and maintenance program that is already underway.
Despite the challenges presented by the weather, the field is fully game-ready for tonight’s match and meets all international standards, including those set by UEFA. The surface will continue to improve as cooler temperatures allow for more optimal grass growth in the coming weeks.
In conclusion, the field at “Fadil Vokrri” stadium is of the highest quality, installed and maintained by a highly experienced team, and ready for play. We are confident that it will continue to provide an excellent surface for future matches.
