Philips Stadium, the third-largest stadium in the Netherlands and home to PSV Eindhoven, has transformed its pitch in preparation for the new football season with Hatko Hybridgrass. Following a packed summer of concerts that took a toll on the turf, the stadium needed a durable, high-performing surface that could be quickly installed—enter Hatko Hybridgrass.
Working closely with our trusted Dutch partners, Aannemersbedrijf Van Wijlen B.V., Hatko Hybridgrass carpet was installed at the Kuypers Graszoden nursery in late April and was carefully cultivated over an intensive 12-week period. By the end of this time, the grass had grown so dense and robust that it was ready for harvesting ahead of schedule.
In just two days, more than 400 large rolls of this advanced hybrid grass were harvested, transported, and installed at Philips Stadium. This swift and seamless process was made possible by Kuypers’ newly developed in-house machinery, specifically designed for the task. The result is a pitch that not only meets the highest standards of playability but also demonstrates the resilience and flexibility that multi-use venues like Philips Stadium require.
This installation marks the first Hatko Hybridgrass surface in the Dutch Eredivisie, setting a new standard for stadium turf in the league. .
